FollowTheWinds.com Launch

FollowTheWinds.com [Education by Entertainment for Kids and Youth] is a new media initiative of Sean O’Brien and Kate Morton following and expressing the lifestyles of 6 of the top pro Formula Windsurfing riders from Europe and abroad. The project aims to educate and inspire the youth about following your dreams (winds) and leading a positive life through inspiration seen in the lifestyles led by our six riders. The next step of the project is to take the concept to the European (and eventually international) media.

Sean Launches CarbonSugar.com

Introducing CarbonSugar.com. A weblog about the design, construction, use and tuning of high-performance windsurfers. This weblog was a result of having never found any decent ‘windsurfing-specific’ books, articles, tutorials on any racing related tactics, technique, design or construction of high-performance windsurfing gear. Now there can be a haven for discussing how to tune your formula kit, how to get the best start and how to fix your gear when you break it for the umpteenth time.

The big change: Gaastra Sails

Gaastra
As the 2007 European Pro Season starts to warm up, Sean announces after a strong 5-year partnership, he will no longer be riding Neil-Pryde sails and has joined the Gaastra Team for 2007.

With the help of fellow Australian and 2x Formula World Champion Steve Allen, Sean made the decision shortly after arriving in Europe to begin the first of his RS:X Olympic Events in Holland. With many World Titles already under their belt, including the current Formula World Title, Gaastra Sails are the ones to beat this season and Sean is looking forward to big possibilities on the new sails…

Sean would like to take this opportunity to thank Neil-Pryde for all their support and guidance over the last 5 years, which have no doubt contributed immensely to Sean’s results and status as Australia’s #1 racer. Whilst being sad to leave such a strong and performance driven brand, Sean is looking forward to the opportunities and challenges a new sail sponsor will bring. Look out for Sean riding Gaastra Sails at all the 2007 European Race Events.

This team is a side-project that Sean has been working on for the past year in an effort to join together a group of elite athletes into one group, maximising resources, training and funding opportunities which are simply not possible individually.

Sean stands alongside other elite Australian gymnasts, rowers and track & field athletes in the team and is proud to announce Blackberry as a sponsorship partner for the 2007 season. You can view the team’s Official Website at www.team-aus.com.au and also checkout their 2007 sporting campaigns.
