Oceanic FW Championships
The 2008 Oceanic and Australian Formula Windsurfing Championships are kicking off at Suttons Beach, Redcliffe this week from the 22nd to 25th January. This event has been organised and coordinated by Sean and is attracting some of the World’s best Formula windsurfers including World Champion Steve Allen, former World #1 ranked Jesper Vesterstrom as well as top sailors from all around Australia and New Zealand.

Any comments on the particular fins used at the event? Which boards are going fast; Starboard, F2, Gaastra??

Hi FW,
Yes, lots of new fins around at the moment which is great for FW.

Nobody used the new F2 at the event; only the 162 and Gaastra boards. Steve probably would’ve won, whatever board he used so its hard to say at this stage whether the Gaastra or Starboard is faster - both are on par at least.
