The big change: Gaastra Sails

Gaastra
As the 2007 European Pro Season starts to warm up, Sean announces after a strong 5-year partnership, he will no longer be riding Neil-Pryde sails and has joined the Gaastra Team for 2007.

With the help of fellow Australian and 2x Formula World Champion Steve Allen, Sean made the decision shortly after arriving in Europe to begin the first of his RS:X Olympic Events in Holland. With many World Titles already under their belt, including the current Formula World Title, Gaastra Sails are the ones to beat this season and Sean is looking forward to big possibilities on the new sails…

Sean would like to take this opportunity to thank Neil-Pryde for all their support and guidance over the last 5 years, which have no doubt contributed immensely to Sean’s results and status as Australia’s #1 racer. Whilst being sad to leave such a strong and performance driven brand, Sean is looking forward to the opportunities and challenges a new sail sponsor will bring. Look out for Sean riding Gaastra Sails at all the 2007 European Race Events.

    Hey Wayne,

I’ve been keeping in touch with Steve Allen a little to find out some tips on rigging and tuning etc. I haven’t had a chance to test out all the sizes I have yet but I’m sure I’ll be dialed in by the time I get back to Australia.

    Cheers.
