Sean Returns Home From Pro Tour

Sean O’Brien returned home to Brisbane, Australia this week after a relatively successful season on the Windsurfing Pro Tour. Finishing the last two Tour events of the season in 15th and 9th overall, Sean raised his overall World Ranking to #11 for Formula Windsurfing. Sean joined the Tour late in the season after a disappointing result at his final qualifying event for the 2008 Beijing Olympics due to an injury he had suffered earlier in the year.

Team-AUS are today very proud to announce Blackberry as a sponsorship partner for 2007. Blackberry provide a telecommunications solution consisting of smartphones integrated with software that enables access to email and other communication services, with that solution being able to be customised to meet the needs of one person or an entire enterprise, to any scale, in any industry.

TEAM-AUS Athletes Compete in Triathlon

What do elite athletes do when they’re not training for their respective sport? They are usually out competing in other fitness sports! Team-AUS athletes Sean O’Brien, Bob and John Hoyes competed in the final USM Triathlon for this season at Raby Bay today. This was the first triathlon any of the athletes had competed in, and the unusually warm temperatures for this time of year made the sell-out event a little tougher for the athletes…

Sean joins the Australian Sailing Team Development Squad

After winning the Australian Olympic Windsurfing Class (RS:X) Championships in January, 2007, Sean has been selected to join the Australian Sailing Team Development Squad. This development squad is the feeder-team for the Australian Sailing Team (those who will represent Australia at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games) and allows Sean access to train under Olympic sailing coach, Adrian Finglas as a member of the QLD State High Performance Unit. Sean will be training with Adrian at Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron boat harbour at Manly with his French training partner, Julien Savina (FRA-0).

Sean wins the Australian Championships Double

Sean O’Brien was crowned the Olympic Windsurfing Class (RS:X) Australian Champion last night a week after winning his second back-to-back Formula Windsurfing (FW) Australian Title. The RS:X Nationals took place inside the Sail-Melbourne International Regatta at Sandringham Yacht Club, Melbourne. Sean had just flown in the day before from the FW Nationals which were run in Perth.

Bob at the Australian Rowing Championships

Bob Hoyes competed at the Australian Rowing Championships this week at Lake Nagambie, Victoria. It was a relatively successful regatta for Bob, as he took home silver in the Elite Lightweight VIII’s (racing in Toowong Rowing Club’s VIII) but had to pull out of the Senior A Lightweight Sculls due to an injury.
