So in the process of filming one of the car chases in the latest Bond 007 film Quantum of Solace, some crazy stuntman managed to crash Bond’s Aston Martin DBS (worth AUD$315,000) off the side of a cliff and plunge it into one of the most famous windsurfing lakes in Europe; Lago di Garda (Lake Garda). So of course I went to explore, however it would appear from the above article they scooped the car out of the lake relatively quickly (I think I missed it by a good 6 months or more), however suffice to say, any excuse to see Lake Garda on a crystal clear wintery afternoon was worth the punishing drive and long ferry ride the night before from southern Sardinia to see…
I made a quick pitstop in Torbole Sul Garda on the way through Italy when I first drove down to Sardinia, however it was a miserable 2 days I spent there with rain both days so I didn’t get to see a lot of the scenic parts of the lake. This time, I got lucky with an incredibly clear and sunny day (despite the temperatures still being around 2-5 degrees and fresh snow on the tops of the hills only a short way up from the lake’s waters). I wasn’t brave enough to think about windsurfing there this particular day (maybe I’ll wait till Summer next year) however I did take a few pics of the lake which you can see here:
Sean! I like the story! But more I like photos. They are just amaizng!nice views and nice taken.
