NYE 2011 – Bondi Beach!!

2010 came and went with a blast! Down here in Australia, people take their New Year’s Eve celebrations pretty seriously! I was in Sydney for NYE this time and decided to roll with a few of my Gold Coast mate’s down at Bondi at a few house parties before hitting Cream Tangerine Rooftop Bar down at Bondi Beach to watch the fireworks from Shore Thing music festival which was taking place next door!
My Brasil Video
From www.Point-7.com: Pro Team rider Sean O’Brien traveled to the northern seaside city of Fortaleza in Brasil this week to compete at the final FW Grand-Prix World Tour event. Here, Sean shares some of his thoughts on his first experience traveling and windsurfing in Brasil.
Footage from the FW Grand-Prix event was shot by Claudio @ Morlima Films.
Intro to Fortaleza Video (BRA-999)
A short video I filmed with Brasilian pro windsurfer Wilhelm Schurmann (BRA-999) introducing the marina in Fortaleza, where we will be competing at the 2010 Fortaleza Grand-Prix event next week.

Here are some photos from the FW Brasilian Championships which just finished this afternoon here in Fortaleza. The Grand-Prix World Tour event starts on Tuesday at the same location and as always, you can watch the live coverage from me right here on AUS120.com at this link.
Brasil, Brasil, Brasil!
I’ve just arrived in Fortaleza, in the northern part of Brasil in time for the Formula Windsurfing Grand-Prix World Tour event starting next Tuesday. I’ve re-started the live-event page so everyone can get the full coverage while I compete at the GP and also the Brasilian FW Nationals which are taking place on Fri-Sun at the same venue. My PWA Sylt Video
All the action that I shot from the biggest and final PWA World Cup event on the tour for 2010. Plenty of cold windsurfing, wild parties, good friends and big jackets. Extra racing footage was shot by the PWA.
Interview with Dan Ellis @ PWA Sylt
This is a rip of the Live Stream Interview I did with Dan Ellis at the PWA World Cup in Sylt earlier in the week.
The video is courtesy of the PWA.
PWA World Tour – Sylt

Well, that was my first experience of the PWA World Cup on the island of Sylt, Germany. This was the biggest and final event for the year with over $150,000 in prize money and 10 days of competition. Unfortunately for me I let the cold weather get to me a little and missed the first few rounds of racing when I caught the flu that was going around up here. Still haven’t properly recovered the week later however I did manage to have a great time and learnt a lot so the experience was never a waste! Photos by PWA/Carter, myself and Tommy from Point-7.
Next event – PWA World Cup, Sylt

Getting ready to drive up to Sylt, Germany for the 2010 PWA Super Grand-Slam World Cup; the final slalom event for the season. Sylt is a miserably cold island facing the ferocious north sea and gets plenty of wind and big waves. It will be the first slalom event this year at a beach that isn’t flat water so I’m really looking forward to it! Should arrive sometime on Sunday morning – drive by night through Germany! Watch this space for more action …
Woke up in DK.

Over the weekend I drove up to the west coast of Denmark for the WaterZ International Multisport event. A massive 30km downwind slalom race for over 220 competitors against 80 kiters was on the cards for us windsurfers. On top of this there were SUP competitions, a best-trick contest at the Cable-Wakeboard park and a massive party on the Saturday night in a fish market. Plenty of sitting on the beach twiddling our thumbs took place on Friday and Sunday with no wind on both days however Saturday for the downwind’er brought in 20 knots and plenty of mist. Impossible to see the gybe marks we had to follow a massive boat leading the way. Some of the guns including Albeau, Cucchi, Volwater, Kiani, Williams and Swift were in attendance and it was a good opportunity to make it back to DK and catch up with some of my old Danish friends. Check out more action on www.waterz.dk.
