The New Point-7 Boom Videos
Here are two videos I shot for Point-7 over the weekend in South Italy. The first is the commercial for the new Point-7 booms and the second is a quick behind-the-scenes compilation of how we had the studio set up to do both the video and shoot the product photos for the booms with our photographer Tommy.
New Point-7 Website

Super early this morning we launched the new 2011 website for Point-7 showcasing the new sails and products for this coming summer. By “early”, I mean 4am, as the P7 crew have been putting in some insanely late nights in the Torbole office this week getting everything ready for the website. In the last photo you can see a shot of our new office at the Point-7 Outlet store on Lake Garda, where you’ll find me during the day if we’re not windsuring! Check out www.point-7.com
The History of AUS120.com™ (2004-2010)
My website has been undergoing lot’s of redesigns, repairs and modifications over its 7 year history. What began as one of my first university assignments (to communicate a story through a digital or online medium – I obviously chose to tell my own story, about windsurfing!), AUS120.com has become in a way my own portfolio for webdesign. I have been a freelance webdesigner for nearly 8 years and have always tried to redesign my site each season to keep up with current trends and my own inability to still like something a few months down the track.
Here, for the first time, you can see the HISTORY of AUS120.com™ and the infamous TOUR-DIARY. Click each screenshot to view the full site in all it’s glory. It’s a pity I can’t show the jquery and Flash effects that were involved in some of the sites, but this will do.

2010 PWA World Cup, Turkey
A short wrap-up video of the 2010 PWA World Cup Slalom event in Alaçati, Turkey showing some of the highlights of the racing and beach parties sponsored by the Aussie beer, Fosters.
Bags, bags, bags, bags, bags.

Sometimes I wonder how we manage to get around to the places we do with the equipment we have; it is just ridiculous. The photos above are the bags of just 3 people (26 bags in total weighing over 800kg) for a one week trip to a windsurfing event. I regularly hear stories of my friends arriving at airports with 20 bags for one person and somehow manage to check them on to the plane! One day the airlines will stop taking our gear I think, then this sport will be over. It’s basically already happening in Australia. Until then, enjoy the pics!
The Lost Boys & the 7 Minute Check-in
Arriving at an airport with 30 bags (900kg) of excess baggage to check-in between 6 people only 25 mins before your international flight leaves is no easy feat. Here, Alberto Menegatti, Andrea Cucchi and myself explain how we not only checked it all on for free, but had time for a drink and sandwich after.
Babylon Aya Yorgi!!!

After the closing ceremony of the PWA World Tour event in Alaçati finished up, the windsurfers took our VIP bus to one of the biggest clubs in nearby town Çeşme – Babylon Aya Yorgi! Live bands, DJ’s, crazy sunglasses, Burn&Vdoka shots and the most I have ever paid for a taxi ride to get home later; it was Sunday morning and we were back at the beach.
Seat vs Waist Harness
There are many different schools of thought on the SEAT vs WAIST harness debate in slalom racing. Although generally there are more guys using waist harnesses these days, a lot of the top guys still use a seat. Below are a few of the names on the tour and what they are wearing.

Heating up at the World Cup, Turkey

After a week in Italy without clean clothes (due to my missing bag) I’ve made it down to Alaçati, Turkey, for the next slalom leg of the PWA World Tour. After three days of no wind and blistering heat, Turkey lit up on the first 2 days with 5 rounds of slalom completed. I’ve had some gear troubles not having a big enough fin for some of the tight courses but it’s still early days in the event. You can follow the progress on Twitter as the internet connection at the beach is too slow to update my site. Photos by PWA/Carter and Rémi Villa.
Have You Seen This Bag?

After nearly a week of phone calls, run-arounds, frustration and more phone calls, my bag has still not arrived back from Fuerteventura. It has been a long 5 days in Italy with only one t-shirt and it appears the bag will not arrive here in time for me to get it before we leave for Turkey tomorrow for the next World Cup starting on Monday. A little disappointing as it has some important things in it like extra sail numbers for my big rigs, some fins and my starting watch. To be continued …
